In 2011 Faber published, in the prestigious Faber Poetry livery, Mother, Brother, Lover, the selected lyrics of Jarvis Cocker. As front-man for Pulp, Jarvis Cocker became one of the figureheads of 90s Britpop, and his lyrics have been described by Daniel Finn on the LRB blog as ‘both anthemic and cerebral’. Now, to mark the publication of the paperback edition of Mother, Brother, Lover, Jarvis will be joining us at the shop in a conversation with the novelist Jon McGregor – ‘Cocker’s lyrics were what made me want to tell stories’, McGregor wrote in the Guardian’s ‘My Hero’ column.
