London Review Bookshop World Literature Series

We are delighted to announce the London Review Bookshop World Literature Series, following on from the success of the World Literature Weekends. Taking place once a month, the World Literature Series explore contemporary literature from around the world, with writers and translators as our guides.

Our Literary Friendships events feature Anglophone writers in conversation with international writers with whom they have a particular friendship or bond. The Insights into Cultures strand offer insights into life in a particular country and culture through the prism of a contemporary writer.

The art of literary translation is at the heart of World Literature series at the London Review Bookshop. The ever popular Live Translation events are back: two translators go head to head with their versions of a text, with the author present, bringing to light the nuances and variations and the very inner workings of the translation process.

Over the year, we are running a programme of masterclasses led by a team of Britain’s most distinguished literary translators.

Arts Council England - Lottery Funded Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation
